Hi kids, maybe I should introduce myself. My name is Christine Graves and I kinda run the joint. Well, I’m the one who painted the walls, hung the curtains, and posted all the words.
I’ve been in the online writing games since the mid-90s. I started out on WebTV, then went to dial-up Internet, then finally got a real computer around 2005. That’s when I really got into online writing. I learned the key to copy writing, ghost writing, content mills, and a lot more. But I wasn’t having any fun so I walked away…for a very long time.
Fast-forward to 2016. I was finally ready to go back into the writing world, but there was a whole new set of rules and I felt like a newbie. Truth is, I kinda was. So, I started from scratch. It took me another two years, but I did eventually get back into the game.
I started writing for a site called Medium.com in 2018. Since that time, I’ve come to run four publications on the site. Two of them are for writers, one is for my own fiction writing, and the other is for my creative nonfiction writing. Let me tell you about them.
Enticing the Muse
This was the very first publication I put together on Medium. It took me over a year to figure out what to do with it, but when I did, I went all out. I currently offer weekly and monthly writing prompts on the site. On the first of each month, I do a Word-A-Day post where I have a single word to spark inspiration for that day. You don’t have to use that word on that day, nor do you only have to use one word a day. It’s just a suggestion.
Amusing Responses
This is my first writer-driven site. I might run the publication, but most of the content is provided by other writers and it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done. I have so much fun creating a home for other writers. It’s very satisfying. I only accept pieces that have been inspired by a writing prompt. Doesn’t have to be one of mine, just a prompt. I do ask that the prompt post and author be cited, just to be nice.
Lair of the Immortals
This is where I publish my serial fiction pieces. I currently have five different characters, each with her own storyline. Each of my characters are immortal in one way or another, (Two of my characters have died on Earth, but are enjoying life on the other side). I have Nefertiti, Lillith, Kate Rhodes, Marina, and Queen Medb. This is one of my favorite spaces.
Para-Mythic
I created this site more than 10 years ago. It started out as a Blogger.com site, then became a subdomain at my personal site, then got moved over to Medium. There was just something about this place that I couldn’t let go of. I still have some work to do with this space, but it’s a labor of love.
Outside of Medium, I have this site here. I used to have several subdomains under Graves Publications, but I’ve since combined them all into a single site. It’s just easier. I have a lot of ideas, but not always at the same time. Throwing all my random thoughts into one place makes it look fuller.
I also have a Blogger site called Priestess of Words. This is another one I’ve had for a very long time. Close to fifteen years, I believe. I’ve worked it, abandoned it, went back to it, forgot about it, and cleaned it up more than once. In the end, it will always be one of those spaces I keep just to have something to fall back on.
Finally, I’m working on putting together a free bi-monthly newsletter. It will be filled with sites and tools for writers of all genres and levels. I want it to become a great resource for writers everywhere. The first issue will come out on January 1st, 2023. I worked very hard to get it done and scheduled for the morning of the first. Honestly, I’m about to burst at the thought of it going out.
As the year progresses, I’m hoping to add more to this list. But for now, this is me. I invite you to come along and join in the fun. If you have a site or a resource you’d like to see added to our site, let me know. You can find me on:
