So, I’ve been having a heck of a time getting my mojo going. I spent the past few weeks working on seeing one of my dreams come true in the form of building a few different websites and just publishing my own stuff on my own terms. I had a blast putting together 5 different sites, but then it came time to add the main course…the writing. And I went totally blank.
So, what’s an old broad to do when she’s gone totally braindead? She runs over to Twitter and sees if there’s anything to inspire her (aka…give her a diversion so she can pretend she’s doing something). And that’s when I found something that truly did inspire me. I found The Daily Drunk Mag. Yes, boys and girls, there is a magazine out there dedicated to drunken humor.
There’s a little something for everyone. Essays, fiction and poetry, drunken reviews. It’s great. One of my favorite series is called 100-word reviews. Movie reviews done in about 3 paragraphs. I’m excited about the site because I’m going to be doing an advice series called Advice From The Old Broad. I’m happier than a catfish in a mudhole.
The Daily Drunk Mag accepts submissions year-round. However, this is not a paying market. I’m still excited about this magazine as it’s just a fun place to hang out. Plus, it’s a great way to work on your humor skills. And being the menopausal old broad that I am, I need an outlet for my sarcastic, unfiltered side.
Check out The Daily Drunk Mag and see if there isn’t something there to put a smile on your face. Got a funny story? Write it up and submit it to the site. I’m always looking for something to smile about.
