I am so excited. I just published the first in a short series called Investigating the Beyond. This is just a short read, around 5,000 words, and book one of what I’m hoping will become a very cool series.
The premise of the entire series is about an aging psychic named Celeste Bordeaux. As a child, growing up in a mansion outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, Celeste was already known as being “special”. She could see spirits at a very early age, including the ghost of her great-grandmother Prudence Bordeaux.
The first book centers around Celeste’s life growing up and the people around her. In books 2, 3, and 4, I’ll be introducing the rest of her investigations team and how they fit into her story. From there, I’m hoping to add more books that are like the old Perry Mason books, such as “The Case of…”.
I’m still a little in awe of the fact that I did this. I’ve spent so many years trying to write the great American novel that I forgot that you can actually write shorter pieces and it’s okay. I thought about making this into a Kindle Vella, but no. I want these stories to be as interesting as individual pieces asa they are a part of a series.
I’m in the process of writing book 2. It will center around an older Chicago private investigator named George Langford and how he gets drawn into Celeste’s group of paranormal investigations. Though he’s a no-nonsense kind of guy, he’s also seen things in his life that make him believe that there’s something more out there.
Book 3 will be the story of Armando Garza. A Columbian national whose underworld connections and dealings give him the upper hand when it comes to dealing with the unknown. He was raised in a world of corruption and superstitions that have been handed down from one generation to the next. He’ll be the team’s good “bad boy”.
And finally, bo0k 4 will tell the story of Mia Cho. A young graduate student from Florida with a degree in biology, specializing in herbology and how various plants interact with each other. It’s through her use of potions and concoctions that the team will conjure up the power to venture between the realms.
I’m hoping to have all four books up and ready for sale before Christmas. I think it would be so cool to be able to offer the entire series for sale come the holidays. But, we’ll see. I have several other pieces in the works and am hoping that by this time next year, I’ll have at least one, possibly two full-length novels uploaded on Amazon.
If you love Paranormal Mysteries, I invite you to check out the first book in my series Investigating the Beyond–Celeste Bordeaux. Be sure to follow my author’s page on Amazon so you’ll know when the next book is up and ready to go.
As I said before, it’s a quick read. It can be read on Kindle Unlimited for free, or you can purchase the book for $0.99. I can’t thank you enough just for stopping by.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a second book to finish up. After all, what’s a series with only one book?
Until next time my friends,
