Creating a New Idea For Stale Writing

So, here’s the thing, I’m still working on finding a way to make money writing. I’m getting a few leads here and there, but I still need to keep myself writing. This blog really is more of a “writing assignment” for me. A place to practice my craft while still keeping myself moving forward. Here, I work on post titles, writing style, my own personal voice. Things like that. It also helps me with my typing skills.

One of the very first things I did as a writer online, was to create a newsletter column of writing prompts for a friend of mine. I had a blast and got pretty good at it. So now, I think I’m going to do it again. I’m going to redo my prompt writing in a newsletter format. Not sure how just yet, but I think that’s the direction I should go. I love creating writing prompts, and sometimes actually use them.

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Weekly Writing Prompts

A weeks worth of ideas for the fiction and non-fiction writer.

Mad, mad Mondays—Anarchy, chaos, anything goes. You’ll never know what I’ll put here

Teachable Tuesdays—Quotes, verses, ancient writings meant to inspire, allowing you to free the soul within.

Wonder What Wednesdays—One word prompts, titles, character ideas…I wonder what we’ll do.

Throw Down Thursdays—In this corner VS. In that corner. Meet some of the coolest writers in the industry.

Freewrite Fridays—This is where I give you something to write about from you memories, past experiences, and fantasies. Just let your words flow.

Weekend Warriors—Did you write something from one of our prompts? Want to share it with the world? Let me know and I’ll post it on my site, along with a short bio and a link to your personal site.

I hope this takes off, but I also know it’s going to take me getting out there and promoting my site. I suck at that. I thought about posting the prompts on my Tumblr account, but might do something similar on that site. Don’t know yet, but will let you know.

Let’s see how this goes. Happy writing!!!
